Bristol Office Space and Laboratories in University New Build
Vinci have been awarded the £35m contract to build the new life sciences department in the city centre for the University of Bristol. The 13,500 sq m building will contain a central atrium separating research laboratories from the office space – the focus of teaching and administration. Architect Sheppard Robson will work with Vinci to develop the design of the building to be erected on the Old Children’s Hospital Site, St Michael’s Hill; demolition of the site is near completion.
It is hoped that Vinci will start work next month. This project marks the start of a large university campus on the site, to include a new mathematics faculty building.
