Westcountry Publications

Working from their award-winning flagship headquarters designed by Nicholas Grimshaw, Westcountry Publications (part of Northcliffe newspapers) produce the only two regional daily papers –Western Morning News and Evening Herald, together with several weekly publications. The Evening Herald is today as much a vital part of the community in Plymouth as it has been for more than a century and it reflects this great tradition not only in what they print but in their building - a brilliantly-designed glass ship, set above a nature reserve at Derriford, on the edge of Dartmoor. From here the Evening Herald charts a course that others follow.

BI Comment

A key challenge was to retain the reception as a functioning facility throughout the refurbishment. This required careful planning around the client whilst they were in occupation. A flexible approach carrying out much of the work overnight and at weekends ensured a delighted client.
